BI has a wide range of international activities both in Norway and abroad.



BI Norwegian School of Management offers international programmes taught in Oslo

2 Bachelor programmes
Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Bachelor of Shipping and Finance (BSF)

7 Master of Science (MSc) programmes
MSc in Business and Economics, MSc in Strategic Marketing Management, MSc in International Marketing and Management, MSc in Leadership and Organisational Psychology, MSc in Political Economy, MSc in Financial Economics, and MSc in Innovation and Entrepreurship

4 Executive programmes (taught part-time in Oslo and at partner venues)
Executive MBA in Shipping, Offshore and Finance, Ececutive MBA in Energy Mangement, Executive MBA, Executive Master in Energy Management

In addition to the full range of international programmes in Oslo, BI offers a number of programmes overseas. Among them is ISM in Lithaunia where BI is the main founder together with a BI campus at Fudan University, China. Furthermore, BI offers 3 executive programmes in cooperation with ESCP-EAP, IFP School in Paris, France and Nanyang Business School, Singapore; double degree programmes in collaboration with recognised schools in Europe and maintains exchange agreements with 160 foreign universities and colleges in 40 countries. In 1999 the BI Norwegian School of Management established the ISM University of Management and Economics in Kaunas, Lithuania in collaboration with Innovation Norway. In the course of these years the curriculum has been extended and ISM today has 1575 students.

Collaboration with ESCP-EAP and IFP School in Paris, France


In 2003 BI established an International Executive MBA programme in collaboration with the reputable business university ESCP-EAP in Paris. The Executive Master in Energy Management is also offered with the well-known business schools ESCP-EAP and IFP School in Paris, France.

This programme is offered part-time in collaboration with Nanyang Business School in Singapore. Upon completion of the programme the students receive a double degree.

The Executive Master in Energy Management is offered in cooperation with ESCP-EAP and IFP in France. This programme is widely sought after with participants from Norway and abroad.

Double degree programmes have been established in collaboration with recognised schools in Europe. These are offered in the Master programmes in the areas of economics and finance. The schools involved are the University of Ljubjana, Slovenia, University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands and the Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona. Also in the area of strategy at the University of Groningen, The Netherlands and in the area of International Marketing and Management at ISM - University of Management and Economics., Lithuania. These agreements provides the opportunity for capable students to spend the second year of their Master course at one of these institutions. Upon completion of the study programme the candidate will receive two Master degrees from BI and the collaborating institution respectively.

The MSc in International Marketing and Management programme exposes students to two international business and academic environments thus preparing them optimally for a career in international business. The first year of the programme takes place in Norway at BI Norwegian School of Management. The second year of the programme will move students to one of the five partner schools in France, Germany, UK, Singapore or Lithuania. These partner schools are all reputed, internationally accredited (EQUIS) and high-ranking institutions.

There has been an extensive collaboration between these two schools since 1996, and includes MBAs for Chinese leaders. More than 1300 Chinese have completed the programme so far and 200 new candidates graduate every year.

BI will develop an Executive MBA programme in logistics and management in collaboration with the University of Foreign Trade. Exchange agreements


BI has exchange agreements with 160 foreign universities and colleges in 40 countries.

Autumn 2008 will be the fifth year that Fudan University and BI Liaison Office will receive Bachelor students from BI in Norway for a one-year exchange.
BI has also sent student groups to Shanghai for a number of years under the direction of Jan Evensmo from the Department of Management and Organisation. As a result of the good collaboration Evensmo has become an honorary citizen of Shandong and his student groups have acquired valuable knowledge about China. The BI Norwegian School of Management trained China’s Olympic Committee


The BI Norwegian School of Management and Fudan School of Management launched a tailor-made MBA programme for members of China’s Olympic Committee (COC).
The MBA programme was an important part of the COC’s preparations for the Olympic Games in Beijing in the summer of 2008. The programme had 40 participants and more than half were members of the COC. The remainder were captains of industry in China’s rapidly growing sports industry. BI was thus one of the very few Nordic players to deliver competence for staging the Olympic Games in China.
